Customer Review: Easy to use and powerful
When starting with this camera I really appreciated the easiness of the various functions, as well as the clarity of the user’s manual. The use of the various commands and scrolling menus is intuitive and easy to remember. You have a whole range of choice between fully assisted and fully manual, and what is really exciting is the optical zoom of 18x.
I expect a good quality for paper large enlargements, but not yet tested.
Very large and usable screen even at sunlight. I am a bit disappointed by the internal digital visor…
Camera is light and small but the leather case is too big.

We are very happy with the Nikon camera we bought from Amazon.com We saved a lot of money. The extra package that came with the Nikon was the BEST. When we went to check out this Camera in another store, It did not include a battery plus an extra battery. It just came with a memory card to take 20 pictures. Amazon.com included a 4MG memory card, and tripod and camera case. The stores did not offer anything. The amazon.com was just $20.00 more for all these extra. If you totalled all up, we probably saved about $200.00. Good Buy.

I purchased this camera in March and really liked how the pictures turned out and the fact that it’s compact, light weight and takes very good pictures, especially high-resolution close ups. My fiance liked it a lot as well and took it to Kenya for three months. The camera mysteriously disappeared from his possession after two months. So we decided to purchase another one. We use the rechargable AA batteries, which last much much longer than the regular alkaline ones. Very nice camera for the price.

Upsold I was and I won’t get into that bc it’s irrelevant (though I can tell you I’ll never buy a product from Circuit City again). Regardless, I allowed myself to be talked into buying the D80 with the 18-135mm zoom lens. At first I wasn’t thrilled. I was worried about the money and I was overwhelmed by the features on the camera.

Customer Review: Does not age gracefully
When I first got this camera, I loved it. It was fast, clear, compact. I recommended it to my mom and she got the same camera.
I dropped it one time and the battery case broke. It stays closed… but just barely. When I came home on Christmas break, I saw that my mom’s had broken in the exact same way. So I think that’s a definite design flaw. It also slowed down considerably within weeks. The time that the flash took to recharge was excrutiating. I missed so many good photo ops because of how long it took between pictures. The batteries also die very quickly in this camera.
It is also difficult to find a good setting for indoors. Most of my indoor pictures are really blurry or I look like I’m glowing white from the flash… there didnt seem to be a good in between. Outdoors, it did work ok. I took some decent shots on it.
