The Nikon 70-300mm is a powerful 4.3X telephoto zoom lens designed for Nikon Digital and Autofocus Film SLRs. I use Nikon since ~30 years. Last one a F801 (film, autofocus) for over 20 years. I used digital Sony W7 and Canon Elph etc. in parallel to the film camera F801. I ordered the D80 with a Tamron 28-75 /f2.8 on Feb 2008. First evening I shot about 200 images. Bottom line, the very old&cheap Nikon 35-70 mm f3.3-5.6 was in sharpness and contrast better then the Tamron (my taste). I returned the Tamron. I wanted a lense about that focus length. I read Ken Rockwell review and bought this one in May, made over 1500 images.

Customer Review: Mine came apart with the first use.
This unit looked good but the first time I used it the aerial fell off into my hand and the remote function didn’t work. Pressing the button on the receiver fired the camera but I already have the Nikon cord that does that. I contacted HK Supplies about my problem with no solution.
Wait until Nikon releases their own remote and save your money. The Nikon remote for the D70 cost only $16.95 and works without an aerial, a much better purchase and one for the D300 will be along soon.

I bought the Opteka wireless remote shutter release to use with my Nikon D300. The product works fine. The range is good and so far it’s fired flawlessly. It’s a good, simple wireless remote release… just wish I’d paid a little less for it.

I ordered it and I was pretty dissapointed in it. It was very diffucult to get the batteries to go in and I had to re-load them 10 times before I could it to work. Maybe the one I got was defective, hard to say. But it was very fustrating to get it work right out of the box. I took a few pics with it it seemed to work ok, But I had a bad 1st impression and it did feel very cheap and decided to return it immediately and exchange it for an SB-400. Not trying to switch ya to the Nikon flash but it much much more sturdier. For someone who will not use it a whole lot and is looking price as thier main buying influence this is it.

This is the original Nikon EN-EL4a battery for the D300 with MB-D10 vertical grip. Works perfectfly. The charge lasts forever. Don’t buy the generic replacement for this battery, they DON’T work. I’ve tried 3 different generic brand & none of them work. I ended up wasting more time & money. Just go with the Nikon & your safe.

I have had this lens for about 6 months now. It’s a good lens, I paid $400 and I see it is $300 now (wish I had gotten that price). I wear my camera around my neck a lot, on a long strap so it hangs down by my hip. This lens is so long it’s a pain not to knock it into things. I wanted one lens to do all the work vs having to have a lot of lens’s and I have learned I don’t like a super long and heavy lens.
